The Library of the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute
Located at the Institute building, 2420 Sutter Street, San Francisco. Open to the public five days a week, the library offers over 7,500 books and journals about psychoanalysis.
The Library is open to the public. Books circulate only to members of the Friends
of the Society and Institute. Annual Membership is $35.00 for students and $60.00
for non-students. Interlibrary loans and Bibliographic searches are available
for a small fee.
The Library has an extensive collection of psychoanalytic books which circulate for 3 weeks, and a collection of audiotapes and video tapes; they circulate for a week only. A used bookstore at the SFPI Library carries psychoanalytic titles at amazing prices. For any questions do not hesitate to inquire or call Susanna Bonetti.
San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute Bookstore
The Bookstore is open during the Library hours. We can order any book for you. It takes about 10 to 12 days to receive the book from the publisher. There is no additional cost for the service. To order your book you can speak to Susanna Bonetti or leave a message when the Library is closed. Many English and American titles are already on the bookstore shelves but we appreciate any suggestion from patrons.

The Library closes for lunch from 3:20pm to 3:50pm each day.
