Victor Calef, M.D.
1913-1983
Victor Calef, M.D.
will long be remembered as an outstanding psychiatrist, psychoanalyst
and teacher. He was a Training and Supervising Analyst at the
San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute for over a quarter of a
century. In addition to training scores of psychoanalysts, his
teaching extended to psychiatric residents, psychologists, doctor
of mental health trainees, social workers and other allied professionals.
His love for and devotion to the pursuit of psychoanalytic truths
was inspirational to all those who had the privilege of learning
from him.
The Victor Calef, M.D.
Memorial Fund
is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1984 by friends,
colleagues and students of Victor Calef, M.D. Its broad purpose
is to advance psychoanalytic knowledge and education by means
of an annual lecture, symposia, publications, and other educational
activities in remembrance of the spirit and energy of Victor Calef.
The Fund is supported entirely by voluntary contributions.
